What is the CITB?

We have some very exciting news to share – National Training Services is delighted to announce that we are now a part of the CITB’s construction industry discount scheme. As a valued member of the Employer Networks initiative - which was launched by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) in 2022 – we’ll provide construction companies like you with access to the training and funding needed to grow skills and success.

An introduction to the CITB

The Construction Industry Training Board, or CITB, is a training board that operates throughout the construction sector within England, Wales and Scotland. It was founded in the 1960s with one mission – to ensure a “safe, professional and fully qualified construction industry”.

Fast forward more than 60 years, and the CITB is responsible for essential skills development that’s already helping to lay the foundation for a better built Britain. The board is sponsored by the Department for Education (DfE) and continues to support the growth of a competent workforce with training and funding.

About the CITB’S Employer Networks

The Employer Networks is overseen and funded by the CITB. It was introduced in July 2022 to ensure that the necessary support and funding would be accessible to those who need it within the construction sector. As a member of the CITB’s construction industry discount scheme, we provide our clients with a pathway to vital skills growth and funding.

As well as sourcing the right training courses for you via approved training providers like us, and booking training on your behalf (that’s right, there’s no paperwork!), CITB funding will cover 70% of the course fee, leaving you to pay just the remaining 30%.

By using the CITB’s Employer Networks you can access training simply, identify and fill skills gaps, and support your workforce appropriately.

Accessing CITB support and funding

If you are a construction company looking to train and support your own employees, we can help. All our courses are now eligible for the CITB discount scheme. To access funded training opportunities, you must be a construction company registered with the CITB.
