 When you attend our 2 days Fire Safety Marshal/Warden Trainer’s course you will become an instructor and be able to train employees to become effective fire wardens or marshals. The course also enables you to carry out training in basic fire safety awareness and you will receive some experience of discharging a fire extinguisher.

There are no prerequisites to attend this training. This course is suitable for beginners, up to experienced practitioners. We incorporate all levels of experience within the training.

Course Aim:  

To enable the participants to carry out their own training for Fire Marshal and Fire Warden duties effectively in accordance with the relevant regulations and organisational procedures.

 

Certification:

The attendee will receive a City & Guilds Profile of Achievement Award & National Training Services Instructor Certification valid for 3 years. After which a 1 day Refresher Course  is recommended.

 

Location:  

Our open courses are held at our training center Unit 1, Adams House, Northampton Science Park, Kings Park Road, Moulton Park Industrial Estate, Northampton, NN3 6LG.

All handouts with underpinning knowledge, PowerPoint Presentation, Lesson Plan, Step-by-Step Guide, Trainer’s manual, Practical and theory assessment guidance, Key faults found in learners, Free Post Course support, City & Guilds Certification and Registration.

Learning Outcome:  

By the end of the course the participant will be able to display an understanding of:

  • Thorough awareness of organisational fire procedures
  • Daily checks and preventative measures
  • Duties of a Fire Marshal including:

 

  1. Fire alarms
  2. Evacuation procedures
  3. Accounting for personnel
  4. Liason with fire brigade
  5. Fire drills
  6. Re-entry to building
  7. Special Duties – Disabled, visitors, contractors.

 

  • Knowledge and use of relevant fire fighting equipment
  • The delivery of the lesson plan.

Yes

 

Assessment Criteria:  

There is a written question paper and the trainees will be assessed on the practical element.

The training involves candidate participation with the emphasis on the practical element of the training. There is practical use of fire fighting equipment at a basic level.

City And Guilds Profile Of Achievement:  

The candidate will complete a pre-course questionnaire, a mid course interview and a post-course professional discussion to fulfill the requirements of the City and Guilds Profile of Achievement criteria.
